Cavities are the most common preventable childhood disease. If your child has a cavity, they will need to get restorative dental treatment at Limestone Pediatric Dentistry to restore their tooth. If you do not get treatment, the cavity will only get worse, and it may even become infected.
Dental trauma from a slip and fall, contact sport, or any other accident can result in cracked, broken, and damaged teeth. This is a common cause of emergency dental appointments for kids of all ages. A dental crown or filling may be required to cover up and protect the damaged tooth.
First, Dr. Lindsey will perform a comprehensive oral exam to assess your child’s overall oral health. Based on this exam, she will recommend the appropriate treatment, such as a filling for a cavity or a dental crown for a damaged tooth.
Depending on your situation, this procedure may be done right away, or you many need to schedule a treatment appointment on a different day. Either way, the team at Limestone Pediatric Dentistry will make sure your child gets the care they need.
The sooner your child gets treatment for their oral health issues, the better their outcome will be. So don’t wait! Get an appointment in Athens with Dr. Lindsey today.
We exclusively use white fillings at Limestone Pediatric Dentistry. White fillings are made of a dental composite material that looks and feels just like the natural tooth, making them more aesthetically pleasing than older metal amalgam fillings.
If your child has been complaining about a sore or sensitive tooth, this may indicate the presence of a cavity. The sooner you treat tooth decay, the better. Catching it early may mean that your child's tooth can be treated with a less-invasive treatment option. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Lindsey to get the help you need.

Stainless steel crowns from our Athens office are used to restore decayed and damaged teeth. These crowns are sturdy and may require little to no removal of tooth structure based on the size of a cavity. These crowns are ideal for treating baby teeth, particularly teeth towards the back of the mouth.
Strip crowns use a thin, tooth-shaped “shell” that slides over the tooth. Composite material is injected into this shell, then it is hardened. Next, the shell is removed, revealing a white, natural-looking crown. Like Hall crowns, these crowns may require little to no tooth preparation, although sometimes we do have to prepare the tooth if there is not enough space between the teeth. They are primarily used for front baby teeth.
White zirconia crowns are used to treat damaged baby teeth. These crowns are prefabricated to fit snugly over your child’s tooth. These crowns do require extensive tooth preparation and numbing, but they are very aesthetically pleasing and durable.
